1. Who this policy covers
This policy covers the FamilyOS app and this launch website. FamilyOS is provided by the developer identified on its App Store product page. The contact below handles privacy inquiries. Apple independently operates iCloud, the App Store, device permission systems, and other Apple services under its own policies.
FamilyOS does not require a separate developer-hosted account. The current app does not send household content to a FamilyOS-operated backend, and it does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs.
2. Information the app processes
Information you choose to enter or import can include names, profile photos, relationships, birthdays, notes, events, reminders, groceries, school documents, scanned images and recognized text, collection or spending details, allowance records, and medicine schedules or checklists. Some of this may concern children or contain sensitive health or financial information. Provide only what you need and are authorized to share.
The app also processes record identifiers, household membership and permissions, settings, sync status, local timer state, and purchase entitlement information from Apple. It does not receive your full payment card details. Optional location features process location coordinates, accuracy, timestamps, sharing preferences, and location-request status.
3. How information is used
FamilyOS uses this information to display and organize your records, recognize text in documents, offer details for your review, synchronize records, share selected household content, operate reminders and timers, show optional family locations, verify purchases, and provide data export and deletion controls.
Text recognition and supported intelligence features run on device using Apple frameworks. The current app does not send your household content to a third-party AI provider. Suggestions can be inaccurate. Feature and language availability depend on your device and software.
If you email support, the Provider receives your email address, message, and any attachments or diagnostics you choose to include. This information is used to respond, investigate your request, and meet applicable legal obligations. Please avoid sending sensitive household content unless needed for a specific support issue.
4. Storage, iCloud, and recipients
Household data is stored locally on your device and, when available and enabled by the app’s sharing/sync functions, in your Apple iCloud account through CloudKit. Apple processes this data to provide its services. The app uses platform storage protection and Apple’s service security; no storage or transmission method is risk-free.
People you invite can access shared household records according to their permissions. View-only access still allows reading shared content, including shared health-adjacent and financial records. Items marked “Only me” remain outside the shared household. Exports and invitations go to recipients or apps you choose through system sharing controls.
Apple’s infrastructure and the systems used to answer support messages may process data outside your country. Apple describes its service handling in its Privacy Policy. We do not sell household information or disclose it for targeted advertising. Information held by the Provider may be disclosed when legally required, or to protect rights and safety as permitted by law.
5. Permissions and location choices
Camera access supports scanning; the system photo picker or file importer provides the items you select. Notification permission supports reminders. You may refuse permissions or change them in device Settings; a related feature may then be unavailable. The app does not require access to your entire photo library to import a selected photo.
Location sharing is optional. You choose whether to respond to a request or enable temporary or continuous sharing. Depending on your selection and iOS permissions, updates may occur while the app is open or in the background. Location snapshots include a timestamp and expiry; these are not a guaranteed live location or a permanent travel-history service.
Stop sharing in the app and revoke location permission in Settings to prevent further updates. A previously shared location may remain available until removal or expiry is processed, and recipients may retain copies. Obtain the necessary consent before sharing information about another person, especially a child.
6. Retention and deletion
App content remains on your device and in the relevant iCloud records until you remove it or use the applicable household controls. Deletion can leave sync markers, and backups or copies retained by Apple or household recipients may persist under their own settings and policies. We do not promise immediate erasure from every device or backup.
In Settings → Data & Privacy, you can export household data and delete personal items. Household settings offer leaving a household or, for its owner, deleting the household. Personal-item deletion does not delete all shared records; leaving does not delete a household for its remaining members. Removing the app alone does not necessarily delete iCloud data.
Support correspondence is retained only for as long as needed to resolve the request, maintain necessary support records, or meet a legal obligation. You can request deletion of support information using the contact below. We cannot delete an Apple Account or retrieve household records that are not accessible to us. We can explain the available in-app and Apple controls.
7. Children and family information
FamilyOS is designed for household organization with adult oversight, rather than independent use by young children. A parent or legal guardian should manage children’s profiles, invitations, and sensitive information and obtain any consent required by law. Do not use the app to monitor someone without appropriate permission.
If you believe a child has sent personal information directly to the Provider without appropriate consent, contact us. We will investigate and address or delete information under our control as required. For household records stored in iCloud, the household owner and Apple’s controls govern access and removal.
8. This website
This site has no advertising pixels, third-party analytics, contact form, embedded third-party video player, or marketing cookies. The explainer, images, styles, and scripts are served as site assets. Language selection uses ordinary links and does not set a tracking identifier.
This website is hosted by Cloudflare Pages. Your browser sends normal connection information, including an IP address and requested URL, to the hosting service to load the site. Hosting and security systems may keep operational access logs according to their configuration and legal requirements. Email and links to Apple take you to services governed by their own policies.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
You can edit records, control household membership and sharing scope, stop location sharing, change device permissions, export information, and use deletion controls. Where applicable law gives you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, withdraw consent, or obtain a copy of personal information, contact us to exercise those rights for information held by the Provider.
We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify a request, but never your Apple Account password. Some requests must be completed through your device, household owner, or Apple because the Provider cannot access those records. Withdrawal does not undo processing already lawfully performed. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority, including Korea’s Personal Information Protection Commission where applicable.
10. Changes and contact
We will update this policy when data practices change and provide additional notice or obtain consent when legally required. The effective date appears above. For questions, privacy requests, or concerns about data belonging to a child, contact FamilyOS below.
